Each case is handcrafted of rich, stained oak hardwood veneer with 8 layers of high-gloss black piano lacquer. Then each layer of lacquer is allowed to cure for 3 days before being sanded and polished by hand. The interior is lined with smooth black velvet. Likewise for the padded watch holders nestled in dual turntables. A bottom drawer adorned with a polished brass knob pulls out to reveal 7 more watch compartments and one jewelry compartment for cufflinks and rings. It will keep up to four watches fully wound by silently and gently rotating them from side to side. There are two separate rotating watch holders each of which can hold up to two watches. There are four programming options for the winding process, and you can turn either or both of the watch holders on/off with the push of a button. A month later I received the replacement. Much dirtier than the first, plus some sort of unbuffed waxy finish all over the case which would require an almost professional buffing machine to gloss up. I tried it out and it seemed to work at first, but then the left (again?!) side stopped rotating and the right side rotated sporadically (sometimes for less than 5 seconds, though it is supposed to rotate for 33 seconds).
